Ms. Abia Akram has been delegated responsibilities to organize women with disabilities in Pakistan in order to develop a national voice on the podium of Pakistan Disabled Peoples’ Organization (PDPO/DPI-Pakistan) with prior approval of President and General Secretary. She has been rendering her services for the empowerment of disabled persons after having trainings on Independent Living and commendable experience in the field of disability and development. She has represented disabled youth of Pakistan at prestigious platforms of Commonwealth and United Nations. Being a dedicated Woman leader with Disability and visionary person, she is respected among all and elected body of Women with Disabilities wing of PDPO (DPI Pakistan) before the elections of PDPO. Women with disabilities may play their positive role in mainstream disability movement of Pakistan this decision has been taken and endorsed.
